What does conscience mean?

Today I learnt that conscience

is a feeling of what is right

and what is wrong.

Clean-up duties

During the holidays my family arranged clean-up duties. We never organised anything like that before, I think it was just a lesson for leaving the house like a rubbish dump.

Here we arranged our schedule. On Mondays and Fridays it's my turn to clean the house, on Tuesdays and Wednesdays it's my dad's turn and on, Thursdays and on weekend it's my mums turn. It can be a pain sometimes because I forget the clean-up duties.

I got out of bed and hurried to the kitchen. My eyes dropped to see the huge mess on the table, last night my family had visitors coming from Tonga to have dinner, they left the kitchen untidy and you know what the disgusting part was?. There were other left-overs from last week too. I put on gloves next got the bin and began shoving the left-overs into it.

Luckily dad came to the rescue and helped me clean. Finally me and my dad finished cleaning the house. "I'll bring the clip-board" (the clip-board is our list of areas we cleaned). Done,done and done. "Hi 5 dad" I shouted happily.

Mum came back from work. "Did you clean the house?" "yes" I said "good now clean the backyard tomorrow" "muuuuum!" I moaned "but it's not my day tomorrow it's dads day" "still you have to do it" mum said "awwwwwwh" I was annoyed, but I had to do it.

Maths reflection`

This week I was practicing solving addition and subtraction problems by adding and subtracting tens and ones separately.

Here is an example.

138+146= (100+100) (30+40) (8+6)

138+146= (200)+(70)+(14)

138+146= 270+14= 284

A time at the movies

During the holidays my mum,auntie and I went to Sylvia Park. While Stacy(my auntie) and I looked around the shopping mall mum surprised us. She paid three tickets to see captain America in 3D. "YES!" we rejoiced zooming around like jets. As we arrived our movie wasn't ready so we had to sit and wait.

The movie was already setup. We paid for our tickets. We walked into the dark room, the steps were red glowing to guide us to our seats. I got to my seat, everyone were in their seats. The lights slowly disappeared commercials began. Finally the movie started. I was so excited.

I really enjoyed Captain America. I enjoyed the part when Chris evens(captain America) throw his shield and it felt like it attacked me. The movie finished “OW MEN” I moaned “can we see that again” I said “NO we’ll see another movie on Saturday” mum said. “YES” I jumped for joy. I can’t wait for next Saturday.

Swimming in a portable pool

My highlight at the portable pool was when we played a game called captain’s coming. My favourite move was the torpedo. We had to push against the side of the pool and zoom off to the other side. It was enjoyable. I can’t wait for the next swimming lesson.

My Picasso drawing

This is a Picasso drawing of me. On one side that is who I am. I’m a creative person and on the other side is my face my ordinary face. It was hard work but I manage to finish it.

A summary about girls can be great soccer players.

A girl is facing a hard time playing soccer. Will she survive the distractions?, will the boys stop complaining like little girls?. It will be a challenge for her. Will she make it?.

SINK OR FLOAT

During topics this term was about sinking and floating. For that my class did a activity where we had to test out some things whether they'll float or sink. my prediction for an apple was that it'll sink but turns out it floated. I did not know that an apple could float. I could not believe my eyes.

Maths reflection

This week my group the hexagons have been working on measurement. We learned about the height, depth, width, distance and length. there were heaps but this week we were learning about height.One by one each person estimated how tall they were. I was thinking I was 1.60m but when they did the actual measurement it was 1.65m.

Pentecost

Pentecost is a time when the Holy Spirit came to the apostles. The Holy Spirit came to them and gave them warmth and strength throughout their lives. The apostles were thankful. The holy spirit gave them the ability to share the Scripture . The apostles were very happy indeed.

My reflection on retreat day

On retreat day all of the year 8’s had a time where we had to show leadership and pray. It was peaceful and quiet. The activities were cool. The one thing that I really enjoyed was the treasure hunt, however all groups had to hold on to a long piece of toilet paper. All of us hated it especially me. Eventually we all finished and our group brought a basket of fruit over.

On the first day we got there all of us went inside a chapel. We all saw a mat and loads of candles. I was the first one with Simone to light one for ourselves. I also lit another one for my mum so she could get the strength she needs throughout life.

the plot of Jesus

It was about Mary believing in Jesus and some of the people went to pharisees and told the people there that he was performing wonderful miracles. So the chief priests met up with the council and said what shall they do?. The council said look at this man who preforms miracles. It was so sad that the roman authorities took over and destroyed their temple and their nation.

Friday maths activity

Today in my maths time I visited a website called study-ladder it's a website that has mathematics and more. As I timed myself my time was 30 seconds. I was proud of my time.

Monday maths activity

Today Mrs Tui sent a heap of times tables and some divides. We had to time each other. My time was 21 seconds. It was a race between me and the clock. "YES" I said with pride. "I beat the clock, just in time". That was cool.

PRAYER TO JESUS

Dear Jesus,

You died on the cross to forgive my sins and I thank you.
I thank you for walking the hard and rough 14 stations to forgive me.
may you help me through out my life and
give me the virtue helpfulness so that I could help people that are in need.
may you fill me with your love and kindness in Jesus name I pray
AMEN.

Athletics day

Everyone were shouting and screaming out loud as the children went past the finished line. It was annoying to see the Juniors playing around like wild animals in the jungle. My head was about to explode into chunks. The teams were so pumped up to their races. It was really intense to see it happen.

So far the children's ages were all ready over.The juniors and the 10 11 year olds.It was now the 12 year olds to race.ON YOUR MARKS GET SET GO!.Off I went running my hardest.Luckily I came third place.Thank god that was over. There was I with a sweaty face. "Oh man relays" my mouth drop. I wasn't happy at all.

To end our day the houses battled it out with their own chant they created. One by one each team chanted. Mr Coakley decided the winners. THE GECKOS!!. I was a little disappointed. There is always another time. It was an awesome day.
